Paula James is a multidisciplinary artist and jewelry designer whose creative journey spans painting, sculpture, and fine jewelry. Born and raised outside Boston, Massachusetts, she spent summers on Martha's Vineyard—a place that continues to inspire her work, including pieces incorporating Wampum shells and island-inspired motifs.

Paula's passion for art was nurtured early through oil painting, watercolor, and sculpture classes. Her fascination with precious gemstones and metals led her to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, where she developed her jewelry fabrication, silversmithing, and stone-setting skills. She has since continued her education through private mentoring and master classes with fine jewelry designers worldwide.

Her jewelry brings together sterling silver and gold with diamonds, birthstones, freshwater pearls, and other gemstones. Many pieces are custom designed for private clients, transforming personal stories and milestones into heirloom jewelry. She has also created commemorative pieces for organizations including The Girl Friends, Inc. and The Cottagers, Inc.

Today, Paula creates from her studio in Harlem, New York, where painting and jewelry continue to intersect. Her goal: to create beautiful, meaningful art that celebrates individuality and becomes part of a lasting legacy.
