About Paula

img-5787.jpegPaula James is an artist with an eye for bold and elegant statement designs and is based in Harlem, New York. She has been a visual artist for most of her life. Her art work consists of mixed media abstract collage and assemblage, oils, acrylics and sculpture. It has been more than ten years since she launched her first jewelry design company. The use of precious and semi-precious metals and gemstones is simply another medium to create wearable art. Paula's creative process is driven by her desire to take beautiful gemstones, precious metals and found objects to create unique pieces of jewelry-art that promotes self expression and individuality for her clients.  "It's amazing how a cleverly crafted piece of metal and unblemished rock can make a statement to ones' personality and outfit". Each piece is very personal and hard to part with, but "I've finally got to a place where I'm able to enjoy sharing my creations by bringing happiness to others", says Paula. "Like my collage artwork, each piece is one of a kind and special".
